Navjot Sidhu has apologised for allegedly hurting the feelings of the Sikh neighborhood


Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday apologised after the Akal Takht Jathedar requested him to take action for allegedly hurting the feelings of the Sikh neighborhood by carrying a scarf bearing some spiritual symbols.

Navjot Sidhu stated he’s apologising for unknowingly hurting the sentinments of Sikhs.

Shri Akal Takht Sahib is Supreme, If I’ve unknowingly damage the feelings of even One Sikh, I apologise !! … Hundreds of thousands put on the revered Symbols of Sikhism on their Turbans, Garments and even carve Tattoos with Delight, I too as a humble Sikh wore the Scarf unintentionally, Navjot Sidhu stated in a tweet.

On Tuesday, Giani Harpreet Singh, the Jathedar of the Akal Takht, the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs, had described Navjot Sidhu’s act as extremely unlucky and in opposition to the traditions of Sikh tenets.

He had stated the feelings of Sikh neighborhood had been damage by this act of Navjot Sidhu.

He ought to instantly apologise, the Jathedar had stated.


The Akal Takht Jathedar stated he had obtained complaints from some members of the neighborhood.

The Congress MLA from Amritsar East allegedly wore the scarf which had Sikh spiritual symbols embroidered on it.

He had uploaded a video on his YouTube channel ‘Jittega Punjab’ a number of days in the past by which he could possibly be seen carrying the scarf throughout a gathering with some farmers in a village in Jalandhar.
