Brazil’s Ministry of Overseas Affairs, by the Embassy in New Delhi, had made preparations with India and Serum Institute of India for the transportation of the COVID-19 vaccines, following up on a letter from President Jair Bolsonaro to Prime Minister Narendra Modi dated January 8.

Brazilian Ambassador Andre Aranha Correa do Lago has thanked the Serum Institute for the vaccines and the “professionalism demonstrated” through the transportation.

“Thanks Serum Institute of India for the superb professionalism demonstrated whereas transport this batch of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines to Brazil and immense appreciation for and due to the Authorities of India for his or her help,” mentioned Andre Aranha Correa do Lago.


The federal government had cleared industrial exports of COVID-19 vaccines, with the primary consignments to be shipped to Brazil and Morocco.

In the previous few days, India has equipped COVID-19 vaccines, being manufactured within the nation, to neighbouring international locations together with Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Massive consignments of Covishield vaccine doses have been flown in particular Indian plane to Seychelles, Mauritius and Myanmar on Friday.
